Jaipur Ashram
Jaipur is the capital and largest city of Rajasthan state and a favorite tourist destination attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. Also known as the “Pink City” due to the dominant color scheme of the buildings in the walled city, Jaipur is famous for its rich history, culture and natural beauty.
As Rajasthan is the native place of Swami ji and a lot of His old devotees and disciples are from this state, He felt a need to establish one more Ashram in Jaipur.
The founding stone of Jaipur Ashram was laid in 1990 by Swami ji’s Gurudev ji (spiritual master), Shri Shri 1008 Baba Bharat Dass Maharaj Ji and the construction was completed in 1993. The inauguration of the Ashram was done in 1994 by the then Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Honorable Shri Bhairon Singh Shekhwat ji. Shri Shri 1008 Baba Bharat Dass Maharaj ji were also there to preside and grace the occasion with His blessings.
Initially, it comprised of a single story building with a hall and 2 rooms and a huge basement for Kirtan and other functions. Soon another floor had to be constructed to accommodate devotees visiting the Ashram and 4 more rooms and a hall were added on the second floor.
Soon after the construction of the Ashram, a big temple dedicated to Maa Vaishno Devi (Mother Divine) was also constructed. A huge Murti (idol) of the Mother Goddess of immense beauty was installed by Swami ji Himself. The Murti may well be the biggest Murti of Divine Mother in the area or even the whole city. There is a wonderful and miraculous story behind this Murti. After doing the Pran Pratishtha (sacred invocation of the presiding deity) of the Mother’s idol, Swami ji, started doing Kirtan (devotional singing) in the space in front of the temple. As usual, He poured His heart and soul in the Bhajan (devotional song) He was singing and due to the depth of the emotions, tears started rolling down from His eyes. The moment this happened, tears also started flowing out from the Murti of Maa Vaishno Devi as if confirming that the Divine Mother is also listening to the Bhajan with great empathy from inside the idol!
Outside the inner shrine of Mother Goddess, there are also very beautiful idols of Lord Ganesha, Mata Saraswati (Goddess of Wisdom) and Lord Hanuman and a big framed picture of Swami ji adorning the front periphery of the inner shrine.
Towards the right side of Mother’s shrine is the sacred altar dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here a big Shiv Lingam (the formless aspect of the Infinite Lord) is installed surrounded by 11 smaller Shiva Lingam’s making it as the representation of the 12 Jyotirlingam (the twelve most sacred and ancient abodes of Radiant form of Lord Shiva in India). In addition, there is a beautiful idol of Lord Shiva with His family and a big idol of Nandi, His vehicle and devotee.
To the left of the Mother’s shrine is another shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu and His incarnations: Lord Vishnu with His Divine consort Mother Lakshmi (Goddess of Prosperity); Lord Shri Ram with His consort Mata Sita, brother Shri Lakshman ji, and the great devotee Sri Hanuman ji; Lord Krishna with His Divine consort Sri Radha Rani.
In a corner, the sacred flame brought from Maa Jwala Ji (an ancient and sacred temple where Mother Goddess is worshipped in the form of spontaneous and naturally occurring flames in a cave) has been kept which has been continuously burning ever since it was installed here.
On the gates of the main temple, idols of Lord Shiva and Lord Kaal Bhairav are installed as the guardians of the temple.
The Jaipur Ashram has also witnessed many spontaneous and 9 days Khechri Mudra Samadhi and innumerable Kirtans by Swami ji. Some of the very rare Yagya like “Sahastra Chandi Maha Yagya” and “Ati Maha Vishnu Yagya” have also been performed here. In the Shivalay of 12 Jyotirlinga, Maha Rudrabhishek (ritual bath of Shiv Linga) has been performed multiple times.
