Jalandhar Ashram
The Jalandhar Ashram was founded in the year 1971. Started as one room, this Ashram has undergone many changes through the course of years. However, amid all these changes, the one constant factor have been Swami ji’s small room under a Pipal tree. This is the place where Swami ji had taken many multi-days Samadhis and performed innumerable Sankirtans.
Adjoining this room, under the same Pipal tree, there is a beautiful statue of Lord Hanuman (lovable monkey god who devoted his entire being to the service of his divine master, Lord Ram) installed by Swamiji Himself.
Overlooking the window of His room is the Yagya Shala where Havan is performed every morning. During the Navratri festival, a grand Yagya (known as Shat Chandi Maha Yagya) dedicated to the Goddess Durga (Divine mother) is performed daily for nine days. Next to the Yagya-Shala, beautiful idols of Lord Ganesha, Lord Shri Ram Darbaar, Goddess Durga, Goddess Sarswati, Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Shiva with His Divine Consort Mother Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Lord Vishnu, Lord Krishna grace the temple hall. Behind the temple hall, there is another altar honoring Lord Shiva in the form of the Shiva Lingam (His impersonal aspect) along with the beautiful idols in South Indian style of His personal form with His Divine Consort Maa Parvati, His sons Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya, and His vehicle and great devotee Nandi.
There is also a very big hall adjoining the Ashram building which can easily accommodate thousands of persons during major functions. This hall has witnessed numerous Sankirtan’s performed by Swami ji. There are many rooms constructed for the devotees desiring to stay in the Ashram. There is also a big Langar (dining) hall for serving food to the Sangat (devotees) visiting the Ashram. After Swami ji’s Maha Samadhi, two main events are now held at Jalandhar Ashram: Chaitra Navratri festival and the Guru Purnima function. One can feel the positive vibrations as soon as entering the main gate of the Ashram.
